    Yes, without doubt …
Yes, without doubt sounds much better only ‘controls’ than ‘controls=”true”‘, checkbox have that problem, you can put: ‘checked=”checked”‘ or ‘checked=”true”‘ but sounds weird the first way.
The main problem is that is not human-readable but in the past that was a major problem with html broken, developers just made anything of shortcuts which work on a particular browser but not on all, that is why I like more xhtml even their weirdness on those special cases =)

  5. ZerqTM Says:

    first of all it …
first of all it would be Control=”true”

secondly html is a depricated standard.

and has been replaced with XHTML which is xml

and even in html 4.0 its recomented to use proper atributes and close all tags.

html/sgml belongs ot the dark ages!

We have progressed to xhtml and i’ll fight anyone tooth and nail to hinder this madness from spreading now that we are finaly progressing forward!

  6. DemianHimself Says:

    Do you really think …
Do you really think that “controls=true” or somethinglike that is better than just saying “controls”.
I think it’s much more natural to put only “controls”, and much more human-readable.
I understand that XML doesn’t support valueless attributes. But HTML is not XML (and there are other markup languajes with different syntaxes ;)

  7. SorcererAndrex Says:

    Google is not the …
Google is not the one inventing HTML 5. HTML 5 is being developed jointly by WHATWG and the W3C HTML 5 Working Group, which does include Google, but also every single major browser vendor and several other high-level technology companies.

  8. SorcererAndrex Says:

    HTML 5 can be …
HTML 5 can be served as XML depending on the mime type. This is called XHTML 5.

  9. ZerqTM Says:

    the video tag …
the video tag syntax was disgracefull!
    attributes without values!

the internet does not need to be draged back into the sgml stoneage its just escaped!

give me pure strickt semantic xhtml or give me death!

  10. ZerqTM Says:

    Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!! …
    Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!
    Fithy!!! Disgusting!!!
    Unaccpetable!

    “controls autoplay”

attributes should never be empty of a value!

are they purposfully trying to revert to the dark ages of sgml?!

    Grrrr!
Cant these idiots stop ruining the net!

I am tired of this idiot stoneage code going around!

Proper god code conventions and standards or get the of the net!

  11. ZerqTM Says:

    the name html 5 i …
the name html 5 i feel is Heresy most foul…
    html was depricated..
another name entierly would be desirable.

For me html represent the dark ages of standard wars, table layout and slopy disgusting code full of unclosed tags.

and SGML! URK! blasted disgusting SGML!
