Should ESPN launch a network & website analyzing Belichick decisions?

November 19, 2009 - 9:21 am 10 Comments

The fierce, round-the-clock scrutiny by ESPN analysts over Bill Belichick’s 4th-and-2 call has me hoping the network will launch an affiliated 24-hour Bill Belichick network and website so they can finally stop talking about this crap on Sportscenter.

ESPN Belichick and ESPNBelichick.com will feature vomit-inducing over-analysis of every decision made by the Patriots coach, from game calls to choosing between hoodies.

anything else?

Absolutely!

I flipped over from FAVRE Deportes. He apparently had a roast beef sandwich for lunch, and analysts speculate what bearing this will have on his decision to return next year. I hope they interview his agent Buzz Cook.

Do you think its right to spy on your child?

November 18, 2009 - 2:09 am 9 Comments

Does your child have private internet access?

The Victims’ Champion called for adults to install monitoring software on computers used by youngsters, and she admitted she checks up on her own children.

"It’s like being stalked," she said. "It’s harassment. As an adult, it’s seen as all those things. But for some reason when we put it with children and put the word bullying to it, it’s something which can be brushed over.

Since the death of her daughter Sarah at the hands of paedophile Roy Whiting in 2000, Mrs Payne has become a prominent campaigner for victims’ rights. Mrs Payne, who took up her Government-appointed post at the end of January, made her comments as she launched Real Radio’s Websafe campaign.

According to a survey by the network of regional stations, a fifth of schoolchildren admit they have given personal information to someone they have never met. The poll of 3,680 children aged 11 to 15 also found 16% had agreed to meet a stranger after chatting on the internet.

The research showed 61% of teenagers could access the internet in their bedrooms, with almost half (45%) of parents never checking on their children’s online activities.

Mrs Payne defended "spying" on children for their own safety.
"I’m not sorry or apologising for being involved in my children’s lives," she said. "You just have to tell them – yes, you can have the internet, but this software will be on there and I will check at some point and if you don’t stick to these rules, the internet goes. You’re the parent, they’re the child and, quite frankly, there’s nothing wrong with that."

Mrs Payne is just right not to be sorry for ‘’spying”
After several incidents in which I found the 11 year old talking to strangers and having a forbidden facebook profile all emails, invitations to message etc are routed through me.

She also knows if my IM pops up while she is on Lexi is the only one she can reply to.
She is also not allowed the laptop in her bedroom anymore.

On a side note isn’t Sara Payne an incredibly brave women?
Most people would go to pieces after losing a child in such an horrendous manner but she has campaigned to save other children

God Bless her

Will A Bell sim card work in an Unlocked (originally Fido) iPhone 3G when GSM Network is launched in November?

November 18, 2009 - 2:09 am 1 Comment

I have a Bell Contracted Samsung i325 Ace which came equipped with a Bell Sim; I’m assuming to accommodate the Bell GSM Network launch now pushed to November. Will I be able to use that Bell Sim in my unlocked iPhone 3G once the network has been launched? and if its not as simple as slipping in the Sim what measures can i expect to take to make it work?

No it wont work.

The Old Bell Sim is an older version only for 2G EDGE Roaming worldwide; unable to connect to 3G networks.

Bell’s new network is HSPA 3G Network so you will need a new sim.
Dont worry, it’s cheap… $5
Not like Freaking Rogers that charge $40

Also if you do plan on using unlocked iPhone… you have to change your plan to a new HSPA bell plan

You simply would have to walk into a bell store when their new network is up. Change your account to the new network, and they’ll give you a sim. Then plug in ur iphone and voila

How do you feel about Lou Dobss leaving CNN?

November 15, 2009 - 5:51 am 13 Comments

and how do you feel about bastadobbs.com being a huge part of it? Does this mean that Latinos and their supporters are finally being heard?

++++++++++++++++++++++++

BastaDobbs.com Announces Victory: Lou Dobbs to Leave CNN

NEW YORK – Responding to the news Wednesday that Lou Dobbs will leave his post as a longtime anchor on CNN, the leaders of BastaDobbs.com – a national Latino-led coalition that had been advocating for his ouster – released the following statement:

“Our contention all along was that Lou Dobbs – who has a long record of spreading lies and conspiracy theories about immigrants and Latinos – does not belong on the ‘Most Trusted Name in News,’” said Roberto Lovato, co-founder of Presente.org, a national online advocacy organization coordinating the BastaDobbs.com campaign in conjunction with more than 40 local and regional Latino organizations from across the country. “We are thrilled that Dobbs no longer has this legitimate platform from which to incite fear and hate.”

The BastaDobbs.com campaign launched in mid-September, and included online petitions, a viral YouTube video, text-message campaign, radio PSAs and a series of events in 18 cities – organized in conjunction with the CNN special Latino in America. The message to CNN was that courting Latino viewers while keeping Dobbs on the network would not win them favor with the fastest-growing demographic in the country. Since then, more than 100,000 people have joined the effort. The events and the campaign garnered significant press coverage in both Spanish-language and mainstream media.

How can I restrict PCs on a network from accessing WOW servers without restricting general internet access?

November 15, 2009 - 5:51 am 3 Comments

My sons love WOW (World of Warcraft – online game) but will play it obsessively if not checked. I would like to restrict their access to this game, while still allowing internet access, such that they can use the PCs to get their homework done, but won’t be tempted to go back online to WOW.

My Linksys router allows restrictions by time of day, specific URLs, and by keywords. WOW itself is launched via an executable file on the PC, and then connects to the internet, but it is unclear as to where it connects (the whole screen is consumed by WOW so no URLs are visible). I also know that my kids connect to different WOW servers from time to time, but I assume that they are routed via a central WOW server of some sort. I’ve checked the Linksys forums, spoken with their tech support, and checked the WOW forums — no luck.

If you can answer this question, you will be my hero (and the hero of many parents out there).

Thanks in advance.

Configure your Windows firewall (or the firewall on your router to block ports 3724, 6112 , 6881 to 6999. WOW communicates on these ports…

When will we see the 10 Noahide Laws implemented and forced upon all the world including the USA ?

November 12, 2009 - 5:44 am 7 Comments

Our most pressing task, to put it simply, is to launch an international Noachide revolution without delay. The process has already begun, with dozens of tiny Noachide communities having appeared throughout the United States, generally composed of former Christians who have abandoned that religion. The task of organizing the revolution can be divided into two broad stages:

I) We must first create a new Noachide society as an international network of communities and organizations functioning inside, but separately from, the surrounding society (based on halachic requirements and directives, Noachide institutions function quite differently from their Christian and secular counterparts).

This starts with an aggressive outreach program, by Jews and Noachides alike, to teach gentiles about their responsibilities according to Torah.

Simultaneously, we must organize functioning programs and institutions that are prepared to absorb these vast numbers of ex-Christians and immediately involve them in efforts to bring Moshiach. The Noachide communities require schools for their children, modeled after the Jewish yeshiva programs; Torah study groups geared for their specific needs; coordinated celebrations of appropriate Torah holidays; family services for marriage, support for the elderly, and burial; courts of justice, led by rabbinically trained righteous judges, which will function similarly to Jewish batei dinim; and tzedaka programs to assist the needy, to build new Noachide schools, and to support Jewish settlements in Israel and synagogues throughout the diaspora.

2) In the second stage, the growing Noachide movement will seize political power—using only peaceful, lawful means—in the capitals of the Western nations. This, of course, will not take place until the Noachide society has grown to some threshold size. We do not know how large this needs to be nor which nations will join the revolution first, although the United States, as a fairly religious, conservative nation, certainly tops the list of prospects.

Upon seizing the reins of government, the new Noachide leaders will move quickly to implement a full agenda of reform. All economic and technological aid to the Communist Bloc, including the PLO, will be terminated immediately. Full support will be given to Israeli forces to reinvade PLO-controlled areas, with military assistance offered where necessary. Jewish courts (the batei dini of the rabbis) will be granted full legal sovereignty over Jewish citizens within each country, who will no longer be subject to the authority of gentile courts. The pre-existing Noachide judges and courts will replace the existing court system of each country, and the legal code will be drastically rewritten to conform to halacha; in the United States, the emphasis will be on restoring the authority of the Constitution and abolishing all unconstitutional government programs and agencies. The national debt will be foreclosed, probably by paying off creditors with government land holdings, thus averting economic disaster. And law and order will be fully restored through the establishment of internal security measures, again in accordance with Torah law.

Almost as soon as aid to the Communist Bloc stops, the international Communist revolution will plunge headlong into crisis. The captive peoples, seeing their liberation at hand, will genuinely rise up to throw their brutal dictators out of power, and the armies of Gog and Magog—ranging from the Soviet Communists to the PLO—will self-destruct before the eyes of the entire world.

Naturally, Amalek’s agents will scream hysterically to intimidate Jews from carrying out the above campaign, hoping to delay this victory. They have no power, however, to prevent our successful action; they can only try to create doubts and hesitation.

As the world plunges headlong toward the imminent revelation of Moshiach while the last walls of the exile disintegrate, the number of confused gentiles ready to change is rising exponentially. If the Jewish people immediately begin preparing adequate structures for the Noachide movement, this tide will be channeled directly into a glorious revelation of Truth. But if we allow ourselves to be caught unprepared, this same overwhelming force for social change can, G-d forbid, be diverted to empower Amalek’s final assault on holiness. It is not a matter of whether gentile society will explode in the face of the growing crisis; this event is an inevitable, and fast-approaching, reality. We do not want to miss this incredible opportunity to provide light in the final moments of darkness.

The world has reached its ultimate point of decision, and the power to succeed belongs entirely to the Jewish people. We can wait until Moshiach comes on his own, following a world war, or we can bring him through our own actions, as the Lubavitcher Rebbe has stated is our mission. The choice is ours.

There is not a minute to waste. Jews everywhere, unite!

..

Some nutcase who isn’t even Jewish write that- the Noahide movement is one of non-Jews who think Jews are correct- but prefer to be righteous under the SEVEN (yep SEVEN Noahide laws- not 10) instead of converting to Judaism.

Hosting a website on an intranet network?

November 12, 2009 - 5:43 am 1 Comment

I had a website with me. I want to launch it in an intranet network. So , how do I host it on network, so that the website should be accessed from any system under network.?

1.) Install a webserver and get it to point at your website
2.) On your target PCs make sure the host file is configured to point towards your webserver
Example: 192.168.100.200 intranetdomain.com
3.) Configure your target browsers to point to the domain when they start up.

A major network is launching a reality program called The Accountant.?

November 6, 2009 - 12:47 am 1 Comment

A major network is launching a reality program called The Accountant. A group of recent accounting graduates will be competing for a spot in a national accounting firm. What would make someone a good candidate for The Accountant? Describe three challenges the candidates should complete on the program, using as much detail as you can.

The challenges should test contestants’ skill in challenges related to topics covered in this course. Be creative. Describe how the challenge will test the contestant’s accounting skill(s) and knowledge as well as the skills the contestant should have to complete each challenge successfully.

Remembering my days in a (UK) major accountant I would offer the following challenges:

- Photocopying – Can you photocopy what should only be left to an overnight printer in half an hour? Extra points for changing toner cartridges and paper. The loser gets buried alive under five tons of paper.
- Filing – Accuracy of files that will never be looked at again is vital, especially in these days of endless computer storage space when it could all be kept on computer any way. So get a Senior Manager to give every aspirant an undifferentiated list of paper, and get them filing. Make sure that at least 20% of the files are on random desks. Then get the "Risk" team down (not the board game, sadly) to go through the files. Publicly burn the loser.
- Exam Cramming. Watch them crumble as you prepare them for one exam and then give them one on a completely different subject. Kill the loser’s mother.
- Auditing hot tricks. Go around a large industrial plant ticking off that all the machinery is still there. Forget about the pension fund (after all that is what they are doing at the moment). Feed the loser to the lions – excellent TV footage.
- Live ammunition duel. This has a tenuous to non-existent connection to accountancy, but it makes fantastic TV

Accountancy has always complained that it is too dull, and this will scotch that misunderstanding once and for all. And the competition will be fierce. After all the Apprentice is about one lousy job, this is about whether you live to next week.

Prominent American Jewish Leader: All Israel’s Excuses Were Lies?

November 3, 2009 - 12:19 pm 9 Comments

http://www.lrb.co.uk/v31/n02/sieg01_.html

Henry Siegman, former national director of the American Jewish Congress and of the Synagogue Council of America said:
“Western governments and most of the Western media have accepted a number of Israeli claims justifying the military assault on Gaza: that Hamas consistently violated the six-month truce that Israel observed and then refused to extend it; that Israel therefore had no choice but to destroy Hamas’s capacity to launch missiles into Israeli towns; that Hamas is a terrorist organization, part of a global jihadi network; and that Israel has acted not only in its own defense but on behalf of an international struggle by Western democracies against this network.”

“let me state bluntly that EACH OF THESE CLAIMS IS A LIE.”

What is your opinion of this?
Judy M: I have a duty, so does every decent human being, to speak out against the genocide Israel committed in Gaza. The Israeli blockade on Gaza is still on. The donations being made are not being allowed in. The crime has not stopped. And the world is still complicit with Israel.

Some of your responders appear not to have actually read the link you gave, which is a pity.
Had they, they would have found that Mr. Seigman gave verifiable references and sources, and that most of them were of Israeli origin. They would have found that they are flying in the face of evidence when they suggest that Israel has adopted an honest and defensive agenda when they have, in fact, been the aggressors in recent weeks.
It scarcely matters if one has no concern for the human suffering within Gaza that all of this has resulted in.
However, if one has any compassion, one owes it to oneself to look at uncomfortable facts before assessing and condoning the abhorrent behaviour of Israel.
The stranglehold that the Israelis have on Gaza, in the form of its blockade, continues to cause much unnecessary misery, and has worsened.
If they believe that this is the way to achieve a long term peace, I am positive they are mistaken. It is merely the cause of further resentment, increasing anger, and further determination not to succumb to the long held Israeli wish for Palestinians to go quietly into the night, disappear and surrender their rights to land, life and freedom from oppression.
